When In Doubt, Make Cupcakes!

After years of discussing, wishing I had taken the leap, and pondering what might have been, I finally did the unimaginable. I decided it was time to stop dreaming and start doing! Simply Cakes would at last come to life. I grew weary of finding excuses and discovered the reason to make my cupcake business succeed. I was doing it for myself, as I find peace in creating and baking.

My love for baking has always been present, even when I was a little girl baking in my mother’s kitchen. Over the years, I baked various things, but it was making cakes for my daughter's birthday each year that truly captivated me. I adored the idea of crafting a themed cake or using my creativity to design a unique cake, which eventually led to cupcakes!

I became thrilled at the thought of sharing my passion for baking cupcakes with others. Now came the challenging part...how would I make this happen?

It involved extensive research, taking a Food Course, registering my business, and developing a Food Safety Plan and a Sanitation Plan. Then, I had to find an industrial kitchen to rent, secure an insurance policy, undergo an IHA inspection, and obtain a city business license—all while maintaining a full-time job. I worked during the day and spent my nights perfecting recipes. It sounds like a lot, doesn’t it? Yet, I wouldn’t change a thing about what brought me here today. Sharing my journey and the pride I feel in dedicating everything to my business makes Simply Cakes a success! There's still much to do and bake, but the foundation is laid, and I am ready to take you with me on my journey! Thank you all.
